| Q. Links and Continuous Contributors: How do I get a link and how do you determine in which category the continuous contributors are placed? | |||||||||
A. Links are offered to continuous contributors who have shown serious commitment to helping Pat's Allies and who also provide a link back to our site, and only with their permission. *** Each and every donation is appreciated and recognized on our Contributor's Page.*** The Contributor Categories are designated based on the frequency with which a company donates products. Typically the Contributors are placed in alphabetical order, but sometimes Contributors who make extraordinary donations will be placed at the top in recognition of their added commitment in a given month. Companies and Individuals will remain in a Continuous Contributor category as long as they continue to help Pat's Army on a regular basis. The Helping Hands category is designated for Individuals, not companies, who are appreciated and recognized by regularly donating their products and services to Pat's Army. |

| Q. I do not have any products. May I send money? |
|||||||||
| A.
Monetary donations are always in great need. However, I do not accept
money for the shelters. |
|||||||||
| Q. Why products? Don't the shelters have funding for these things? | |||||||||
| A. As with running any household, you have a budget. It is the little things that "eat up" your funds bathroom tissue, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, cleaning products, etc.). If some of these products are donated, it will free funds for other things that clients would not have. For instance, a family's home burns to the ground, or a battered woman has to flee in the middle of the night with only the clothes on her back and her children. The children must go to school. They do not have a book bag or back pack, pens or paper. These things are necessities for them, but may not be a necessity when it comes to a funding budget. Shampoo is a necessity, but conditioner may not be, even though the shelter has terrible well water. All of the little things we take for granted, they may not be able to purchase for quite some time. It is a "lift" to their spirits to have some of the small comforts that the shelter cannot have on hand all of the time. | |||||||||
| Q.
Shipping charges are expensive - is there one location I can send my product
to that all will receive benefit to avoid several shipping points? |
|||||||||
| A. Depending on the product and the volume will depend on where it will be shipped . I accept a certain amount at my home and deliver to all the shelters. If the volume is too great for me to handle, contact me and I will make arrangements for shipment to one location. | |||||||||
| Q. May I donate to just one of the shelters if I have a preference? | |||||||||
| A. Absolutely. You may send your product directly to any or all of the shelters. However, all shelters have limited storage space. If the shelter you choose already has enough of that product to last them, and do not have storage for more, I will let you know when you contact me. The items requested are used by all shelters, and they do share when they have an abundance. They must, or course, keep supply for their own clients first and foremost. | |||||||||
| Q. Do I receive any type of receipt for my taxes? | |||||||||
| A. Make sure that you place your Company name, address, e-mail and web site address in the box with your product. Sometimes the return address is different than your Web Site information, and we need to know where to send the information. Upon receiving your products, I will send you an e-mail with your inventory and the organization(s) who will receive your donation. You should keep the e-mail along with your shipping receipt until you receive a "letterhead" thank you through U.S. Mail. Your "letterhead" thank you will be issued either from Pat's Army on behalf of the organization, or from the receiving organization. If you require tax numbers, they will be issued, but please state your need for the tax numbers. Normally, just a thank you letter is sufficient for tax purposes (some of the organizations automatically provide tax numbers, and some only on request). Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for your U.S. mail letter to be issued. If the product needs to be wrapped or labeled by me, I need time to do so. |
